What We Believe

The United Methodist Church is a world-wide church who exists to cultivate disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  Throughout the world, the United Methodist Church expresses its desire to be the church with Open Arms, Open Hands, and Open Doors– Welcoming, Serving, and Worshiping God with with people of all ages, nations and races.

The United Methodist Church is rooted in “practical divinity”–encouraged by its founder, John Wesley.  This means that we believe our faith should always be expressed in our living.  A life of faith in Jesus Christ is both personal and social.  It is personal in our individual expressions of devotion to God.  It is social in the ways that we connect with a community of faith, and serve the world around us.
